Logging in to designintro
Make a note of the email address and password you have used and login to your member's area in the designers directory using the login in the right hand menu

Loading & editing my products & images
In your members area you will have access to loading a new product. It's easy - just fill in the content in the each section adding the information requested including a product description, dimensions, construction etc. (it's as easy as typing in any word processing program like Word). Then you upload photos (these need to be digital and already saved on a file on your computer  or a CD so you can upload them to designintro) and select the one you want to use for this product.
To insert an image onto a product page select the image in your image library in the right margin then click the '<' button next to the 'insert image' graphic.
Then just add the price and delivery cost, choose the category where you want to sell your product (e.g. Ceramics) and press the 'Save changes' button to publish the product.
To edit an existing product just select the product on your items for sale list in the right margin, click the 'Edit this page' button and go right ahead with your changes. Or you can keep the product information in your members are but unpublish it using the 'unpublish this page' option.

Loading & editing my profile
In your members area you will have access to loading your profile. It's easy. Click on 'Edit my profile' then just add the information requested including details of your biography (it's as easy as typing in any word processing program like Word) and, if you wish, loading your personal photograph (this needs to be digital and already saved on a file on your computer so you can upload it to designintro). Then press the 'Save changes' button.
To edit your profile at any time, click the 'Edit this page' button and go right ahead with your changes.

Setting the right price for my work
Price your work sensibly. Just because you took ten hours to make something and value your work at £30 an hour does not mean the item is worth £300. Study the competition, think what you would pay for a similar product from another designer and price sensibly. Until you have built a reputation you may have to set your prices below those charged by established designers for similar products.

Choosing the right category for my work
This should usually be obvious, as we believe we have created a comprehensive list of categories. However if you think a new category would be a good idea please send your suggestion to info@designintro.co.uk

How can I improve my sales?
Make sure your personal profile is complete and interesting - shoppers like to have a sense of a relationship with the designer when buying individual design work
Ensure your product details are clear and comprehensive, interesting, honest and accurate. Include accurate measurements in the 'Dimensions' box. Include clear information on materials etc in the 'Construction' box.
Take good quality digital photographs, using good lighting, tidy them up (the most common fault is that photos are too dark) in a program like Paint or PhotoShop. You do not need professional photos of your work but you do need to take a professional approach to photographing it and editing the images.
Price your delivery charges accurately so that shoppers know they are getting a fair deal. If your item is heavy or bulky make this clear in the product description and explain why this impacts on delivery charges. Take the trouble to find international delivery costs and consider offering to ship your products abroad.
